Is Cofelt a substitute for therapy?

No. Cofelt is not a substitute for therapy, medical care, or any other professional help.

Xarvos is an AI reflection tool. It can respond to what you share and offer personal context, but it is not a licensed human professional. It cannot:

  • Diagnose mental health conditions
  • Prescribe or recommend medication
  • Provide licensed therapy or counseling
  • Replace the relationship with a therapist, psychiatrist, primary care doctor, or any other licensed professional
  • Handle medical emergencies
  • Be your only support during crisis, severe depression, suicidal ideation, severe anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, psychosis, or any other clinical condition

If you're going through something hard, please also reach out to:

  • A licensed therapist or counselor (most countries have directories; in the US, Psychology Today's therapist finder is widely used; many therapists offer sliding-scale or low-cost options; Open Path Collective offers sessions from $40-$70 for people without insurance)
  • Your primary care doctor (they can refer you, screen for conditions, prescribe when warranted)
  • A crisis line (see the previous article for country-specific numbers)
  • A trusted person in your life: a friend, a family member, a religious or community leader

Xarvos is not licensed, not human, and cannot track your full clinical picture. It can be one part of your support. It is not a replacement for a therapist, doctor, or crisis line. If you are unsure whether what you are going through warrants professional help, reaching out to a qualified human is the right next step.
