Before your profile can enter broader recommendations, your account needs to meet a few readiness steps. These steps reduce fake or abandoned accounts and give other members enough context to make an informed choice.
The available steps are:
- Birth data complete: date, time, and location. Time is the one most people don't know exactly; that's fine, you can mark it "approximate" and you get a slightly less precise chart.
- Profile 80% complete: the weighted fields are display name, bio, birth date, birth time, birth place, gender, intent, and locale or comfort radius. A profile photo is optional and does not count toward the percentage.
- 14 calendar days since signup: this is an account-age gate, not an activity streak, and the timer does not pause when you are away.
Phone verification is intended to be another anti-fake step, but SMS delivery is not yet configured. You cannot receive a working verification code yet, and phone verification is not currently available for account recovery or user two-factor authentication. Any broader recommendation gate that requires it remains locked until the SMS service is enabled.
Cofelt can show a birth date as self-attested or document-verified. Self-attestation records your own confirmation. If you choose document verification, an identity-verification provider checks a government-issued ID and confirms the date; we receive only the result and verified date, not the ID image or biometric data. Neither method verifies character, intent, or safety.
Broader network recommendations unlock only after every required gate is satisfied. Premium members can send connection requests under their plan's current permissions while the recommendation gate is still pending; that does not make the account broadly discoverable.
